Pre-Order Max Payne 3 from GameStop and Get Early Access to the Cemetery Multiplayer Map

Posted by | Posted in XBox New Games | Posted on 25-11-2011-05-2008

0

Anyone who pre-orders Max Payne 3 at GameStop (either the standard version or the Special Edition; and either by pre-ordering in store or online) will get early access to the Cemetery Multiplayer Map at no extra cost at the game’s launch this March, weeks before it is made available to the general public.

The final resting place of Max’s young wife and daughter, Cemetery represents the tragic past Max cannot forget. With a wintry New York City skyline, sniping positions amongst the monuments, destructible tombstones, circular fighting arenas in a rotunda garden and a looming mausoleum, it makes a fitting final home for your enemies.

Look for more information on Max Payne 3′s multiplayer as well as details on other pre-order exclusive bonuses with retailers across the U.S. and internationally to be revealed very soon.

Triple XP, Limited-Edition Controller Giveaway and More in this Week’s Red Dead Redemption & Undead Nightmare PSN Official Social Club Multiplayer Event (November 18, 4-7 PM Eastern)

Posted by | Posted in XBox New Games | Posted on 17-11-2011-05-2008

This weekend we’ll have Triple XP flowing for Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition on both PSN and Xbox LIVE. And this Friday we’re kicking things off with the latest official Social Club multiplayer event on PSN – playing online for 3 hours (and change), broadcast streaming the action live, chatting with the Social Club community and giving away special sweepstakes prizes. To get down with any and all of it during the event, head over to the Social Club multiplayer events page. Any version of Red Dead or Undead Nightmare is compatible with Game of the Year Edition multiplayer – so even if you don’t have the Game of the Year Edition release, you can join us to play in any of the applicable modes on PSN.

Enter to win these controllers or one of 20 runner-up prizes on the multiplayer events page under "Sweepstakes Entry".

You’ll be able to enter the sweepstakes at the multiplayer events page under ’Sweepstakes Entry’ during the event for a chance to win the two specially customized Red Dead Redemption PlayStation 3 controllers you see above. We’ve given away two pair of these limited-edition jammies before and entering the sweepstakes is the only way to get your hands on them (they are not available for purchase). Once you enter, you’ll also have the chance to win one of 20 runner-up Rockstar prize packs that includes an official t-shirt and stickers.

Joining us as special guest players for this event will be our long-time friends, the Konsole Kingz down in Atlanta who are planning on doing giveaways of their own at the Konsole Kingz website. Cheers to the KKz squad for taking part including CJ, Sergio da Pro, and Red Dead fan and model Sheneka Adams – should be extra buckwild in the wild wild west this Friday.

HOW TO FIND US
Start multiplayer from the main menu, choosing ‘Normal’ from the list of difficulties. This will place you into a Free Roam lobby. It’s best to invite at least one friend and form a posse, but this is not required. Then enter the game mode being discussed by "SocialClub" in the chat.

HOW DOES FREE ROAM WORK?
Free Roam is the hub of your online experience. Supporting up to 16 players, Free Roam allows you to explore with your friends and enemies, take out the gangs of outlaws or launch into more structured gameplay using the markers placed around the world. We’ll be forming posses and then heading into several game modes during the event.

FORMING A POSSE
To start the game, invite your friends, form a posse and find Rockstar, follow these steps:

  1. From the main menu, press ‘Start’ and then enter ‘Online Multiplayer’ by pressing the ‘Square’ button, and choose ‘Normal’.
  2. Once in a Free Roam lobby, press the ‘Select’ button to open the in-game multiplayer menu.
  3. Press the ‘R1′ button and then the ‘Triangle’ button to ‘Show Friends’. Invite at least one friend into your posse using the ‘X’ button.
  4. Once your friends are in the game, press the ‘Triangle’ button again to return to the ‘Players’ menu and select them with the ‘X’ button to ‘Propose New Posse’ or ‘Send Posse Invite’.
  5. Once you and your friends are ready to go, start up the game mode we’re currently playing. We’ll announce modes in the chat.

Future events include a Grand Theft Auto IV & Episodes from Liberty City PC event on December 2nd and a Red Dead Redemption & Undead Nightmare Xbox LIVE event on December 15th. See the events calendar for more details.

Want more chances to play with Rockstar, and more Triple XP for Red Dead? Follow us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, and look for our announcements to go up about once a week at random, basically whenever we feel like getting online…

Thanks to all that joined us for some Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition multiplayer on Xbox LIVE (and those that soaked up a subsequent weekend full of Triple XP) held on November 3rd, the most recent event in the official Social Club multiplayer events series. The next event on our calendar is this week, November 18th from 4-7PM Eastern. We’re playing Red Dead Redemption & Undead Nightmare on PSN along with special guests from our friends the Konsole Kingz in Atlanta, and heads up – we plan on flipping the switch to turn on Triple XP all weekend long thereafter once again.

Congrats to videophile and Grand Prize winner ahetFIN, randomly selected as the lucky recipient of two limited edition Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 controllers. Also a special shoutout to the runner-up winners we’ve confirmed to this point who’ve all won Rockstar Prize Packs with t-shirt and stickers: ValluX, lulu10, Syio–, BleedingShock, vicefan91, Warden64, mpclark31, excutedgear99, Ivansteel, Snake_Faceman, FugetSudo_Jr, Misandope, Assassin7821, cdman17, WarlordToxin, walshaw, FeelThePayne, DocGorff, jeradwtf and WAZ_UP_ROCKSTAR.

Hope to see you all later this week for the Red Dead Redemption & Undead Nightmare event on PSN this Friday from 4-7PM Eastern. Should have another Grand Prize to give out plus Triple XP, so don’t sleep.

Follow us on Twitter and Facebook to get the word when we’re casually going online to play our titles for an hour or two. These times aren’t scheduled, and many times we’ll do Triple XP for Red Dead for a full 24 hours. Watch those two streams closely…
